The Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda state university
History of the University
Accordingly to the Government Resolution of the Republic of Kazakhstan № 256 dated March 24, 1998 the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University for Humanities and the Ibray Zhakhaev Kyzylorda Polytechnic Institute were reorganized by merger to the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda State University.
1937 - The Pedagogical Institute on the basis of the Far Eastern Korean Pegagogical Institute transferred to Kyzylorda was opened.
1937-1941 - The Teacher Training Institute was functioned in parallel with the Kyzylorda Pedagogical Institute.
1941-1945 - The evacuated Kiev and Kharkov universities functioned on the basis of the Kyzylorda Pedagogical Institute.
1952 – The Kyzylorda Pedagogical Institute was named after N.V. Gogol.
1992 – The N.V.Gogol Kyzylorda Pedagogical Institute was renamed after the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda Pedagogical Institute.
1993 - The Kazakh-Turkish Lyceum was opened at the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda Pedagogical Institute.
1994 - The grammar school-lyceum "Kabіlet" started its function at the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda Pedagogical Institute.
May 7, 1996 – The Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda Pedagogical Institute was reorganized to the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University for Humanities. (KyzGU).
The I.Zhakhaev Kyzylorda Polytechnic Institute
July 13 - 1976 –The branch of the Dzhambul Irrigation and drainage and Construction Institute (DIDCI) was opened in Kyzylorda.
November 15, 1990 – The Kyzylorda branch of the Dzhambul Irrigation and drainage and Construction Institute was transformed to the Kyzylorda Institute of engineers of agricultural production (KIEAP).
February 12, 1992 - on the initiative of the public, faculty staff and student groups the name of Ibray Zhahaev, a noble farmer, State Prize winner, twice Hero of Socialist Labor was given to the institute.
May 7, 1996 – The I.Zhakhaev Kyzylorda Institute of engineers of agricultural production (KIEAP) was reorganized to the I.Zhahaev (KIEAP) Kyzylorda Polytechnic Institute.
March 24, 1998 – The I.Zhakhaev Kyzylorda Polytechnic Institute by merging with the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University for Humanities was reorganized into the Korkyt Ata State University (Korkyt Ata KSU).
